Dear Ocean Shores Community Club Members,

December is a wonderful month. In our different households and within our circle of family and friends, we celebrate the gift of each other.  Gift giving is an important part of the season and we humbly receive and give for the joy it brings others. The greatest gift we give one another at this time, is the presence we have in each other’s lives.

As the calendar year comes to an end and we celebrate with family, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our team who supports our members and maintains our facilities. Our team maintains 32 acres, more than 20,000 sq feet of facilities and serves over 17,000 members. Our team of 20 caring individuals is a group I am proud to work with and share a vision for Ocean Shores Community Club.  This team works hand in hand toward the mission they created.

Mission Statement:

To promote the health and wellbeing of all community members in a supportive and caring environment. Provide recreational facilities and parks for members to experience the beauty, the warmth, and the sense of community of Ocean Shores while creating a lifetime of memories with friends and family.

Celebrations continuing, the return of Ocean Shores Community Club Holiday Bazaar was a great hit! Over 40 vendors and over 1200 holiday shoppers enjoyed a fun-filled day with gift shopping – some for others and some for themselves. The smiles, the oohs and aahs and the purchase of so many unique items created a wonderful experience for all.  This was the true gift. Thanks to all who made this day so amazing! We look forward to next year’s event.

Bring on the “new” in the New Year

Ocean Shores Community Club is committed to affording more opportunities for our members. Look to January for some new additions and some minor scheduling changes to ensure more fun is added.  Check out the following:

               Aqua Dance Party

Dance yourself in to shape Thursday evenings. Join the Aqua Dance Party for a self-directed workout in the pool and get motivated by the fun music. Receive a gentle overall work out for the body and cardio system. Typical workouts begin with a five-minute warm up and then 40 minutes of aqua dancing! Check it out on Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM. Get your groove on in the pool.

               Evening Water Aerobics

A new Water Aerobics will be added on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Enjoy some upbeat tunes while working out!

               Line Dancing

Tai Chi is moving to make room for line dancing.  Get in the dance line and then cool down with some relaxing movement. Check it out on Thursdays:

4:30 PM to 5:00 PM – Line Dancing

5:00 PM to 5:30 PM – Tai Chi

Table Tennis

For our avid Table Tennis players a second evening has been added for your play. Members can join the paddle play on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM. Get your paddles ready and perfect that backspin.

Our parks are open for all members, their families and friends, even our canine friends. Keeping in the holiday spirit, I ask all our park visitors to follow the rules so all can all enjoy our wonderful surroundings. Canine friends MUST be on a leash. Our parks are dog friendly…not dog parks. Our members and staff appreciate your cooperation in keeping our parks safe and enjoyable for all.

Step Back in Time

December 1964 holiday celebrations were in full swing. Old ‘sandy’ created the world’s largest holiday card for all to see. The best view? Up in the air. Check out this issue of The Ocean Observer and read more about our history and the holiday celebrations. Copies are available in our Loft for members to enjoy.

Here’s to 2023

As we wrap up 2022, there are some wonderful moments to reminisce and keep in our hearts and memories.   A new year brings new beginnings to our lives and the lives of those we love.

“I hope you realize that every day is a fresh start for you. That every sunrise is a new chapter in your life waiting to be written.”

― Juansen Dizon, Confessions of a Wallflower

Wishing you all the best for a beautiful holiday season and new year filled with great health and joy. May each new day bring you great happiness.

Warm regards,
